Calendar of Seasons

This post is dedicated to those minds who think why the climate has changed globally, my city climate wasn't like this earlier, the earth is getting terribly heated up and even the glaciers and my ice-creams melt so quickly and my skin gets tanned in my own home town.

In the past our ancestors followed the movement of the sun, moon, other planets and various stars to calculate the factor called Time. Time was important for them to utilize the natural seasons for their agriculture, hunting, travelling and war.

Our ancestors were able to tell the time and season by looking at the starry nights, bright sun and moon.
Then a thought of refinement and automation surfaced among those geniuses. They constructed several huge devices and engineered buildings or carved rocks to find time and the associated seasons. All of them worked hard and found that the time calculation was simple and then they devised an instrument called ‘Clock / Watch’, which does exactly the same way the time was calculated by our ancestors. This was appreciated to be a great invention and everyone started purchasing the same and used to check time. They even prepared the concept of calendar to predict the seasons. The circular repetition of the seasons was termed as a year and which was sub-divided into months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. They coined a product for all these terms and named it as Calendar. This product was widely accepted and had led to various inventions, industrial revolutions and cultural growth on the planet earth through human beings.

The time moved fast. So far… so good.

However, I feel although the invention of calendar is good, there is one key factor missed out.
That factor is ‘dynamic movement and angles of earth, sun, moon, other planets and various stars’ is not considered here in this simple concept. But why is it important? For example, the angle of the earth towards the sun-rays decides on how much heat the planet earth receives from sun and thereby the planet’s seasons. Assuming, if the angle of earth to the sun-rays on a particular period of the year in the past is no longer the same as the current year then the seasons won’t be the same. There could be several other factors and space activities which could have helped our ancestors to come up with the calculation of time and calendar. And not many of us know them in the current days.

I am sure that the change in the seasons is due to global-warming. However I still doubt whether the greenhouse gases are the only problem creator.
But the global/regional calendars are not in sync with the earth’s angle to the sun-rays. Also, how often we recheck the distance between earth, sun and moon along with other stars and the intensity of the light radiation from them. Yes, I called the calendar as a product and it requires upgrades now. And our global calendar model revolved around the layers of the earth predominantly.

To summarize, the problem for the shift in the seasonal climate of earth is multifaceted and can include the following factors:

  • Global warming due to greenhouse gases & volcanoes eruption
  • Distance between the Sun and Earth are getting reduced.
  • The angle and movement of the earth, sun and moon are not the same when the calendars are invented.
  • The Sun is getting more hotter at its core
  • And are we breaking some protective layers of the earth's atmosphere with our radio waves and shuttling into the space with our space-vehicles?
The climate model is not able to predict what the season would be the next month or year and simulation was already found be mismatching in recent decades.
So, we need to publish a protocol and interval to do such activities and refresh the global-calendar rather than thinking only of the limited factors are responsible for the seasonal shift.

Try drinking more water and spare some to the birds and animals. Everybody needs water in all seasons!
